Dear CSS Families,

It is hard to believe that January is behind us and we are moving into the 3^rd quarter of the year.  It will not be long until spring is upon us and our students will again be taking the End of Grade and End of Course Exams.  Many parents have expressed an interest in the school creating End-of-Grade test preparation opportunities for our students.   It is our hope that each and every student will have academic success while attending Charlotte Secondary School, and that they will demonstrate their true and best academic achievement level on the North Carolina End of Grade and End of Course exams in May. 

After careful review of the available test prep resources, CSS has chosen a test prep series that we feel would be most helpful to our students.  The American Book Company publishes a selection of study guides for each of our tested subject areas. The cost per subject study guide is 11.00 for the EOG books and 12.50 for the EOC (Algebra). The EOG prep could potentially occur during the day with support from school staff and trained parent volunteers. 

We are asking each parent to take a moment to fill out the bottom portion of this letter and send it back to school as soon as possible.  Our plan is to order the books in late February.  If you have any questions concerning the study guides, feel free to call the school and speak with Ms. Neely at (704) 295-0137.
